1 Month of Baby Formula - $20

Although it is less well known, HIV can be transmitted from a mother to her baby through breast milk.  Therefore, if an HIV positive mother breast feeds their child, the baby is put at risk of contracting the virus. Providing baby formula instead helps lower the chances of the baby being HIV  positive.

For only $20 you can provide an HIV positive mother with enough baby formula to feed their child for an entire month.

Bed Nets for 4 Families - $20

A key part of staying healthy when you have HIV is preventing other illnesses, which would need to be fought by an immune system weakened by HIV. In Ghana, especially during the wet summer month, malaria is a common concern. By providing treated bed nets to people with HIV, we can help prevent malaria and let their immune system focus on fighting HIV.

For only $20 you can provide treated bed nets to 4 families (2 nets per family) having a big impact on their health and well being.

Three Hours of Radio Awareness Programs - $50

In rural Ghana TV sets are few and far between. But radios are far more common and are often shared in a household or with other members of the community. This makes radio programming an ideal way to raise awareness about HIV. The radio ads cover everything from prevention and treatment, to the social stigma surrounding HIV. All broadcasts are done in English and Buile, the local dialect.

For only $50 you can provide 3 hours of radio time for these important messages to the public.

Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer tax receipts on donations or gift purchases.

As a small organization, Step By Step Africa has limits to their ability of adding large, new programs in Ghana. For this reason, it would be irresponsible to fundraise more money than we could realistically put to good use in the near future. Any amount exceeding $2500 that is raised from this campaign will be donated to Horizons Children Centre, an amazing orphanage operating in the same town in northern Ghana.
