Although we are still a young organization, Step By Step has already funded over 500 free HIV tests. We currently provide baby formula to babies of HIV positive mothers to help them remain HIV negative. In Sept. 2007, there was severe flooding in Northern Ghana for which we provided food aid, as nutrition is a key part of treatment.
Going forward there are lots of other projects we are planning. In addition to enabling individuals to receive a free HIV test, we will start providing support to individuals who test positive through monitoring the progress of the disease and nutritional assistance, as well as more assistance for HIV positive mothers.
